Mark your calendars for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Every three minutes, a woman learns she has breast cancer. Join over 20,000 walkers for a 5-mile noncompetitive walk to support the American Cancer Society's 7th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event and help bring us one step closer to a cure. Our goal this year is to raise over $2 million for the American Cancer Society's breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient & family services programs. There is no pre-registration for this walk, no registration fee, and no fundraising minimum! Everyone can participate. Encourage your coworkers, friends and family to join together and give what is in their hearts. If you are interested in forming a team at your organization, volunteering, or you would like more information, please call 888-ACS-8899 or visit our website at http://www.cancer.org/. Volunteer! If you're interested in volunteering, the American Cancer Society needs hundreds of volunteers to help make Making Strides Against Breast Cancer a success! Pre-event needs include brochure distribution to local merchants in your neighborhoods, office support, and more. For the day of the walk, we need your help with refreshments, water stations, route marshalls, hospitality, and more! Recruit friends and family and we'll station you together. Remember, volunteers can raise money, too! Email darnold@cancer.org, and include your name, address, phone number, and "MSABC volunteer" in the subject section of the email. For more information, or to take part, you can also email Greater New York Mensa's own Greg Draves at greg.draves@gnym.org. Thank you! |
