The Movie Lovers' SIG

This month we're seeing The Blair Witch Project, the story of three filmmakers who go out into the woods of Maryland in search of a local legend... and never return. The movie was the hit of this year's Sundance Film Festival, an annual showcase for independent filmmakers, and received a warm reception at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera. The movie opens at the Angelika Film Center on W. Houston St. in Manhattan on Friday, July 16th. We're going to attend on Wednesday, July 28th.

If you haven't heard about The Blair Witch Project, the Sci-Fi Channel is airing a special about the making of the film and the legend of the Blair Witch at 10 p.m. on Monday, July 12th, and you can visit the official websites at www.haxan.com and www.blairwitch.com.

Remember, it's only a movie... We'll try and get coffee or a bite afterwards.
