Academy Award® Nominated Short Films Screening
Greg Draves
We're going to the Museum of Modern Art (11 West 53rd Street -- between 5th Avenue and Avenue of the Americas {a.k.a. 6th Avenue} in Manhattan) for their annual screenings of the Academy Award® nominated short films. We need to alter our usual procedures for these very popular screenings, as the museum's method of ticketing this event is a bit convoluted. My recommendation is that we meet when the museum opens at 10:30 a.m. and get our tickets for museum admission and the film screenings right away. We can then spend the rest of the morning and the early afternoon browsing the museum's collection or seeing the nearby sites.
The screening of animated and live-action shorts starts at 2 p.m. and the screening of documentary shorts begins at 5 p.m. Movie Lovers who are museum members can get advance tickets (prior to the day of screening) for a nominal fee. There are also free admission tickets available for various reasons, so please let me know in advance whether you intend on attending so I can try to get tickets for people as cheaply and conveniently as possible.
People who have difficulty planning in advance can try to get standby tickets for the films 30 minutes before showtime.
Again, please let me know as early as possible of your intention to attend this event. Good luck picking the winners in The Movie Lovers' SIG Academy Award® Contest!

Hope you had fun!
