Visiting New York City!
Staying On Staten Island!
For superb New York hotel rates, call the Staten Island Hotel by March 31, 2003 at718-698-5000 or800-532-3532 and mention Mensa to get the preferred rate. The cost is only $99 + tax per night, for a single or double occupancy room on Friday and Saturday.
The Staten Island Hotel is convenient to downtown New York City, Long Island, the New Jersey Turnpike and Newark and Kennedy International Airports. By public transportation, from the Staten Island Ferry terminal take the S44/94 bus and get off at the stop beneath the Staten Island Expressway on Richmond Avenue. The Staten Island Hotel is right across the street. (The S44 which only goes as far as Jewett Avenue does not go far enough. Take an S44 or S94 which goes to the Staten Island Mall instead.)
There are also taxis available at the Staten Island Ferry terminal and both the S53 and the S79, which start in Brooklyn at the 86th Street station of the R subway line, transfer to the S44.
