The Hunt Begins
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2004
GNYM SCAVENGER HUNT BEGINS
? 5pm
"It was Forty years ago today"
(created by Marty Goldberger, Vicki Goldberger, Melanie Rush, Paul Scher and Stan Spector)
INTRODUCTION: 1964 was an eventful year. A president had been assassinated, and America was coming to grips with a world that would never be the same. One of the reasons the world would never be the same was the arrival upon the world scene (and the arrival in America) of a foursome called The Beatles. We dedicate this List to the 40th anniversary of the arrival of The Beatles on U.S. soil.
When thinking about the rules for this year, we thought "Why mess with a good thing?"
So here, with just a FEW modifications, are last year's rules. We all KNOW that bribery is wrong . . .
RULES of the Greater New York Mensa Scavenger Hunt 2004:
| 1 |
All items submitted for approval must be 3-dimensional unless noted. They cannot be 2-dimensional copies or reproductions of the requested item. |
| 2 |
Although computers may be used for reference, NO computer reproductions will be accepted. |
| 3 |
Each judge may award one (1) point per item. No partial credit will be awarded. |
| 4 |
You may submit more than one entry for any requested item, but no more than one point per judge will be awarded for any item. |
| 5 |
Ties will be broken in the following manner: Each team may provide the judges with a 28th item (see below). The 28th item with the oldest date wins the tiebreaker. |
| 6 |
Teams should arrive at the restaurant by 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 2, 2004. Contestants arriving late may subject their team to penalties. |
| 7 |
Home-made attempts to reproduce requested items are not encouraged. However, as always, the decisions of the judges are arbitrary, capricious, and final. |
Once all the items (or as many as you can find) have been obtained, proceed (sometime before 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 2, 2004) to:
